Louise Flaherty, ACA Registered Counsellor

Why clients come to Louise

Support for the parts of life that feel hard to untangle alone

Louise brings warmth, steadiness and practical therapeutic skill to conversations that can feel too loaded, painful or confusing to carry by yourself.

Relationship and family strain

Communication, conflict, parenting, separation stress, reconnection and patterns that keep repeating.

Anxiety, grief and life pressure

A calm space to make sense of what feels overwhelming, uncertain or emotionally heavy.

Addiction, coping and change

Practical support for patterns that are hard to shift alone, including substance use and coping strategies that no longer serve you.

How Louise works

Warm, practical and collaborative therapy

Louise’s work is warm, practical and collaborative. She brings evidence-based approaches into real conversations — helping you understand patterns, build skills, and find a steadier way forward.

Her role is not to judge or tell you who to be. It is to offer a neutral, grounded space where change becomes easier to see and practise.

Every session is shaped around what you need — whether that means learning a specific skill, processing something difficult, or having space to think out loud.

Louise draws from Gottman Method and Imago for relationship work, CBT for thoughts and behaviour, and narrative or trauma-informed approaches for deeper exploration.
