Some people find that their best thinking happens in natural surroundings, or that difficult conversations feel easier with space and movement. If that sounds familiar, Nature Therapy may be worth exploring.

Who It's For

Nature Therapy is for people who feel clearer, calmer or more connected in natural environments. You do not need to be fit or outdoorsy. The pace, level of activity and what you feel comfortable trying are decided together.

How Sessions Can Take Place

Face-to-face sessions take place in an agreed natural setting around the Fleurieu Peninsula — such as a coastal walk, a quiet park or a seated natural setting. Where appropriate, sessions can also take place online while you join from a natural environment that feels suitable, private and practical for you. Privacy, accessibility, comfort, connection and safety are discussed in advance.

Approaches and Activities

Sessions may incorporate CBT, narrative therapy, art therapy and somatic movement. Guided activities may support self-awareness, reflection, noticing patterns and personal growth, without promising a particular outcome. You remain in control of the pace and can pause or change direction at any time.

Weather and Safety

Less-than-perfect weather may sometimes become part of the experience when that feels potentially useful, but only after discussing your readiness, comfort and ongoing consent. Physical safety comes first, conditions must remain appropriate, and there is always a backup plan. Nobody is expected to stay outdoors when conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.

Why I Offer This

The Fleurieu Peninsula offers varied coastal and natural environments, while online sessions allow clients elsewhere to participate from a suitable setting of their own. Nature Therapy is not for everyone, but it can offer a gentle and collaborative way to work for people who are drawn to natural surroundings.
